PROS:
A few moments of humor.
Some interesting visuals of the planets and the robots.
Interesting scifi concepts that don’t get much screen time, such as time dilation.
CONS:
Too much plot information is told to us, not shown to us.
The story is unclear. More than once I was confused by what was happening and why.
The ending isn’t a surprise and isn’t ingenious.
It was an hour and a half worth of plot stretched into a nearly 3 hour saga.
Performances are flat to downright silly. Matt Damon doesn’t seem to even be trying.
Closing Comment:
If you’re a scifi nerd, you’ll probably enjoy the movie for that.
If you’ve never read a half-way decent time-travel/space-travel story, you’ll probably even think it’s original.
