Postcard – Commercial Roofing Mailers

Inevitably, mailers have to fight for attention. One way to get attention is to be obscene or off-the-wall. Though I’m not comfortable with obscenity as a marketing strategy, I am okay with being off-the-wall(to a degree). The unexpected gives us pause. And hopefully, the unexpected in a postcard mailer causes the receiver to read it.

Both of these postcards were sent to owners or property managers of commercial buildings. And knowing that influenced the designs.

I imagined the office manager seeing this one as she went through the mail. She chuckles, flips the card over, and scans the back. But when she throws all the other marketing pieces away she keeps this one as a decoration. That’s why I made certain that the front didn’t bear any of the sales pitch. Also, there’s an easter egg in this one – the skyline is of the city these were being sent to.
